Bird Center Needs Furniture

Friday, August 19th, 2011

The Marathon Wild Bird Center needs furnishings for an unfurnished apartment to be utilized by their newest intern. That person arrives on  Sept. 30th. They already have a dish set, pots and pans, and a bed but could use a lot more including a stove. Contact Kelly Grinter at kgrinter68@gmail.com.

Bird Center gets bandages

Monday, June 13th, 2011

The Marathon Wild Bird Center lists, among other items, an ongoing need for bandages on KeysReuse.com and Joy Tatgenhorst, right, responded. The bandages were part of the estate of Sally Buehler, a local  volunteer who died recently. Bird Center executive director Kelly Grinter uses some of the needed supplies on a baby cormorant.  Currently 24 non-profits list much needed items on KeysReuse.com.

Great news!

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

KeysReuse.com has racked up some recent successes and we’re delighted.

Reef Relief just received a donation of a DVD Player and a computer printer as a result of its listings on KeysReuse. And, the Marathon Wild Bird Center got some much needed bandages. A friend of the center was helping settle the estate of a woman who recently died and discovered the unused medical supplies. Checking our site indicated that the bird center could use them.

Bravo to those who donated! Each one helps a non-profit in the Keys when all budgets are tight.
